At Santan ART bank, we use a stringent screening process and currently accept into our donor program only 1%-2% of the men who apply.

To participate in our anonymous donor program, donors must:

• Be between the ages of 19 and 39
• Have graduated from, or be currently attending a 4-year university program
• Profession
• Live at commuting distance to one of our laboratories
• Commit to the program for 1 year/ donate sufficient time to get adequate sample.
• Complete a detailed questionnaire, which includes a 3-generation medical and genetic history
• Undergo a bi-annual physical examination and blood tests every three months
• No inheritance disease
• No suffering from major illness.
• Not having any drug abuse

Our donors come from a variety of backgrounds with differing physical characteristics, hobbies and interests. This helps our clients to more easily find a match that fits their specific needs.

If primary report are normal, you will be recalled for special semen test i.e. sperm survival test. Nothing will be paid to a donor for first two semen samples taken for primary test. You can donate semen if it passes through all primary lab tests successfully.

If you are selected as a semen donor “ Santan ART bank “ provide an opportunity to an infertile couple to select a semen donor. Your details will be disclosed in a semen donors selection card and website. Your name and address etc. will not be exposed.

We will let you know if you were a selected by a couple as a donor. You can donate your semen according to requirement. You will be duly compensated as per each semen donation.

Semen stays frozen in quarantine for at least three months, after which time the donor must be HIV-negative before the semen can be released.

A small portion of the sperm is lost in the freezing and thawing process; a donor's fresh semen samples must meet certain minimum requirement. In order to qualify for our donor program, 70% of his sperm must be motile, 60% must have normal morphology, and the sperm count must be at least 60 million sperm per cc.
